XinaBox has three co-founders, Bjarke Gotfredsen, Judi Sandrock and Daniel Berman
Bjarke Gotfredsen
Bjarke has more than 30 years experience in Information & Communication Technology. He ran his own consulting company in Denmark, before moving to South Africa in 1999, where he worked with several IT companies at board level. He was instrumental in forming the South African Legal Information Institute, and in 2008 co-founded the Meta Economic Development Organisation (MEDO) with Judi Sandrock. Bjarke founded XinaBox in 2015, having not found the right tools to bring STEM alive in the classroom, as part of the MEDO.SPACE initiative.
Bjarke has a B.Sc. in IT from the Business University of Copenhagen, and an MBA from GIBS, and has published in international journals, and holds world wide patents in ICT security processes.
People might not know ... Bjarke enjoys long walks in the mountains around Cape Town, sometimes venturing as far as 25km, accompanied by a Sat phone and his Apple Watch to take notes.

Judi Sandrock
Judi has more than 20 years of experience in medium to large corporate environments, as well as the non-profit realm. She has lectured widely on Innovation, and is a recognised South African expert in knowledge management. Having enjoyed an exciting corporate career at Anglo American, Air Products and Sappi, in 2008 Judi co-founded MEDO, a South African non-profit company supporting entrepreneurs and delivering secondary level STEM education programmes. She has been its CEO since.
Judi qualified in Chemical Engineering from WITS, has Project Management and Marketing Management qualifications, an MBA from GIBS, and has published a book on knowledge management.
People might not know ... Judi was also a competitive ice skater until knee injuries forced her early retirement at the age of 16.

Daniel Berman
Daniel spent almost 20 years in the international financial markets, first in London and Johannesburg with JPMorgan, and then with Standard Chartered. He ran capital markets teams advising on large financings for corporates and governments, as well as executing hedging strategies to manage financial risks. Daniel co-founded a specialised commercial cleaning business in 2013, AERF, a social impact technology fund, which has just launching its first innovation center in Lagos, and joined XinaBox as Co-Founder in November 2017.
Daniel has a B.A. Economics and Psychology from Trinity College, Dublin.
People might not know ... While traveling Daniel is always looking for new trail runs to explore, having run about 30 marathons and ultras since arriving in Johannesburg in 2006.
